Why Become a STOTT PILATES® Certified Instructor?

As a STOTT PILATES student, you learn more than just choreography. You gain the knowledge, skill and confidence to develop effective programs for a range of clients - from post-rehabilitation patients to fitness enthusiasts to elite athletes.

Our training and certification programs are designed with your experience levels and goals in mind. Courses carefully detail the logic behind each exercise and routine, and then reinforce it through observation, practice teaching and instructor feedback.

Programs and workshops are taught by STOTT PILATES Certified Instructor Trainers at all seven of our training locations.

We also offer on-site "hosted" training courses  at your facility. Train and certify in stages or work towards full certification. Either way, the solid training you gain through STOTT PILATES hands-on approach or attention to detail ensures the success of your clients, career and business.

Getting Started:

A formal education in Functional Anatomy or Kinesiology is required.  Students will need to know and understand the movement of muscles,  insertions and origins.

If you do not meet the anatomy pre-requisite, we offer an Anatomy Basics Workshop which will meet this requirement.  The workshop is designed to provide a student with the tools necessary to participate in the STOTT PILATES Certification Program.

Thirty hours of STOTT PILATES classes and/or a combination of private training with a STOTT PILATES instructor are required prior to entering a course.

Students must be familiar with the course repertoire prior to entering any course.

It is expected that you know and understand the basic principles.

Be body aware in the exercises.

You will need two letters of recommendation from a STOTT PILATES trained instructor in order to enter the course which must accompany your registration form.

Letters of recommendation should state that you know and understand the basic principles, are body aware, are familiar with the repertoire.

If you do not meet the above pre-requisites, contact us for your options.

When registering for a course, students must purchase all required course materials at time of registration or indicate materials have been ordered directly from STOTT PILATES, Toronto.

Students cannot miss the first weekend of any course.  Make up hours can be arranged if students miss any weekend after the first weekend free of charge in the next course offered or can choose to make up time missed privately (for a fee) at half the hours missed.  If a student can make all the weekends except the first weekend; contact us and arrange private training hours (for a fee) to learn the first weekends material.
